Emergency Prescription Requests

Emergency prescription requests are requests for medication which you need within 1 working day to prevent you becoming severely unwell.

Please note that we do not accept telephone requests for prescriptions.

If you have forgotten to order a repeat prescription and you feel you need your medication urgently please either contact your pharmacist, who can request this for you electronically and in some situations will be able to give you an emergency supply until the prescription has been raised, or you can put in a written request which can be marked as urgent and we will endeavour to have these ready for collection the same day. Please see below for what may be included as Emergency medications.

Emergency medications include:

  • Epileptic medication
  • Insulin
  • Inhalers for lung conditions
  • Emergency contraception
  • Epipen for anaphylaxis

Emergency prescription requests are not requests for medication which have been ordered late. You should allow 2 working days for routine repeat prescription requests. Please respect our staff, as it is your responsibility to ensure that your repeat prescription request is ordered in plenty of time.
